 “Music should and will always come first.” – Chicken George With heavy emphasis on the music, DJ Chicken George has emerged as a globetrotting, groove merchant whose diverse sessions are unpredictable, energetic and heart-felt by his listeners. DJ Chicken George's (CG) unique "Jazztronica" style of incorporating and fusing various styles of music has granted him several appearances internationally in Mexico, Sweden, Paris, Amsterdam and across the U.S including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Las Vegas and Philly. CG also deejayed on extensive radio tours with sets on Betalounge Radio, Dublab.com, Fader Magazine Radio & Beatsauce Radio hosted by Om Records' recording artist, J-Boogie. CG has shared the stage with a wide range of talent including The Wailers, Pete Rock, DJ Premier of Gang Starr, Cody ChesnuTT, Spoon, Echo and the Bunnyman, Grandmaster Flash, Breakestra, Biz Markie, Grupo Fantasma, The Neptunes, Saul Williams, The Roots, Talib Kweli, DJ Jazzy Jeff and many more. More than just a club DJ, CG embodies the creative spirit of Hip-hop culture. He is an artistic entrepreneur, blending eclectic new sounds and old tracks together, collaborating with visual artists, emcees, and instrumentalists, making radio sets feel like live shows and live shows a celebration of music. "I've always loved listening to music. It was something that I enjoyed more than any other activity as a child." CG transformed his hobby into a career when he purchased his first set of turntables after graduating from high school. He then dedicated his time to developing his musical tastes and talent. CG knew at a young age that his intrigue and passion for music would become a life-long endeavor. His appreciation for music can largely be attributed to his parents who made music an important part of family life. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, later moved to Houston, Texas and is currently living in Austin, Texas. Arriving in March of 2003, he quickly became a local favorite and was voted Best Live (Club / Party) DJ for the Austin Chronicle "Best of Austin" Readers Poll.
